Riffa, April 12, 2024/ Our national junior athletics team, one of the outputs of the Faisal Bin Khalid Talents Academy, returned from participating in the first Gulf Youth Games hosted by the United Arab Emirates until May 2 with three colorful medals, including two golds and a bronze.

Upon their arrival at Bahrain International Airport on Sunday, April 21, 2024, the Faisal Bin Khalid Athletics Academy’s talented athletes were greeted by HE Mr. Mohammed Abdullatif Bin Jalal, President of the Bahrain Athletics Federation, Secretary General Yousef Ahmed, Mr. Hisham Al Balushi, Director of Federations at the Olympic Committee, and Public Relations Specialist Khalid Mohammed Haji.

On this occasion, Mr. Mohammed Abdullatif Bin Jalal, President of the Bahrain Athletics Federation, praised the GCC achievement of the Faisal Bin Khalid Athletics Academy for Talented Athletes, who represented the Kingdom of Bahrain well after Mariam Ahmed Hussein won the gold in the 800 meters, Ahmed Sabri Mahmoud won the gold in the high jump and Salem Salem Bakhit won the bronze in the 110 hurdles.

Bin Jalal stressed that these achievements are the result of the support of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, to the Athletics Federation and the Faisal bin Khalid Academy for Talented Athletes, which the athletics family is honored to bear the name and patronage of His Highness’ son, which had the greatest impact on the Board of Directors of the Athletics Federation and the members of the game.

Bin Jalal praised the good levels presented by the male and female athletes to raise the flag of the Kingdom high and prove that the mother of the games has a good base of talents in various disciplines, stressing that the Federation attaches great importance to the Faisal bin Khalid Academy for Talented Athletes to achieve the goals for which it was established, which is to refine and discover talents, which culminated in the graduation of those talents who were able to achieve these honorable Gulf achievements to be the start and the first step towards achieving more than that to create a generation of talented to compete Arabically, regionally and internationally.

Bin Jalal also thanked the Bahrain Olympic Committee for all that it provided to the team and the efforts of the administrative mission in providing all facilities and overcoming all obstacles, which culminated in achieving this result for the Kingdom of Bahrain.
