Riffa, May 08, 2023/ The Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) organized the Children’s Athletics Festival, which is celebrated annually in various countries around the world on May 7 every year at the invitation of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) with the aim of encouraging children to practice sports and athletics in particular.

About 110 students from Al Naseem International Private School and Sakina Bint Al Hussein Primary School for Girls participated in the Children’s Athletics Festival, where a series of competitions were organized in running, jumping, relay, tug-of-war and many other competitions amid active participation of students.

The celebration was held within the framework of the existing partnership between the Bahrain Athletics Association and the Department of Physical Education at the Ministry of Education, where about 40 students from Al Naseem School and 70 students from Sakina Bint Al Hussein Primary School for Girls participated under the supervision of the technical and administrative staff of the Faisal Bin Khalid Athletics Talent Academy.

The Bahrain Athletics Association is keen every year to share the world and celebrate the Children’s Festival as part of its efforts to spread the sport of the mother of games among children of both sexes, encourage them to practice sports, cultivate the culture of athletics, create a promising generation that loves the sport of the mother of games and expand the base of practitioners of this sport in addition to creating a diverse recreational atmosphere that attracts the largest number of children through the events and activities accompanying the festival.
